Hold up. Korra just ATTACKED his girlfriend’s father about being some horrible, awful supremacist with little to no proof or, frankly, reason to believe that it’s true. He KNOWS that she has feelings for him, and, like it or not, he’s right in that she IS jealous of Asami. I honestly do not blame him in the slightest for being such a jerk.

I’M SORRY PEMAThe past two episodes showcased how great these two are together, but not as a couple rather as a team. The way they move together and look out for each other? I especially love how in the most recent ep Lin tells Tenzin she will do things her way, and he just looks at her in silent understanding. You get a glimpse of their connection, borne out of sharing years together.
I don’t think it was necessary to make Lin and Tenzin exes, though. It would have sufficed that they’re old friends and know each other too well from growing up together. I don’t get the show’s obsession with romanticizing every boy-girl relationship that exists. Shipping everyone with everyone is the fandom’s job, Bryke, give us some room to work here.
I actually agree with this 100%…
I was really skeptical that Tenzin and Lin had something in the past. I just didn’t see it happening with the way they first interacted, and I especially didn’t see it as a necessary explanation for Lin’s initial hostility towards both Tenzin and Korra.
Though, to be honest, now that I see how harmonious they work together, their former relationship is easily imaginable. Regardless, the creators didn’t have to write it that way…
Of course they didn’t HAVE to. They WANTED to. It’s their show, you know. And I, personally, find the dynamic really interesting. We’ve never seen “exes” on ATLA or LoK before, and it’s something to explore. It’s more complicated than a straight up friendship, and I really like that.
